Sony Ericsson S500i


The S500i measures a pocket-pleasing 1.4cm thick, though at 9.9cm long its reaching candybar-length proportions. The casing is glossy plastic, and has a tactile rubber-feel back panel. The front casing is a bit squeaky when pushing up and down, which points a finger at some cost savings. The spring-action is smooth and substantial enough, however.

Nokia N93i


The main feature of the Nokia N93i is its high grade camera. Powered with lens superbly crafted by Carl Zeiss, the integrated 3.2 megapixel camera of the Nokia N93i can give any digital camera a run for its money. High resolution imagery gets even sharper with advanced imaging features like autofocus, optical zoom and LED flash. But the uniqueness of the Nokia N93i is not its still photography but its DVD like video shooting capabilities. The Nokia N93i record videos in MPEG4 format at 30 frames per second for about 90 minutes.

Nokia N76


CES 2007 finally kicks off in earnest, and first among the big new releases is Nokia, with its new Nokia N76. As it's an N-series phone, you'd expect the N76 to be all-singing all-dancing, but no this time - the N76 is a multimedia computer (well, compared with its N-series siblings), sporting only a 2 megapixel camera, MP3 player, video recorder, up to 2GB storage, and er, well that's it!

Well, not quite it - it has a tasty looking 2.4" 16 million colour screen. But nothing special to mark this N-Series phone out from its competitors.
